This can be very tricky. Approaching a superior higher in the organization’s ranks than your immediate superior about something as routine as a day off may be perceived in a very negative way. I would recommend caution and restraint. Try harder to clear this with your immediate supervisor. Work IS a priority, after all. If you cannot get the day off, deal with it.
NO. You shouldn’t go around your boss to his/her superior. Gently remind your boss that you’re trying to make plans for that weekend and need an answer soon.
It’s easy: If your boss has the power to fire you, don’t go to your boss’ boss. If he doesn’t, go for it!
no,you may burn some bridges !
Tell them you need to know, cause you plan on leaving town and have reservations.
No… going to your boss’s boss may actually anger your boss &/or your boss’s boss. If you go to your boss’s boss, it just mean your boss did not manage his/her job well– supervising you & the others. Your boss’s boss may be displeased because you are taking such small issue to him/her.
It really depends. If s/he is a very nice person and usually they don’t mind whatever commments you make or actions you take, it would be ok.
However, they may take note of that when they consider about your promotion.
no no no don’t go behind your boss’s back. 1st it is extreamly unprofessional and second your setting up a situation which will foster a negative relationship between you two.
