What Is The Best Way To Kill Fire Ants In The Shortest Period Of Time?

I just recently moved to North Carolina and have never had to deal with fire ants before. I’ve tried killing them with bait but the mounds just seem to come back.

    Call an exterminator

bleach – you can get 4 large jugs for less than price of 1 box of fire ant killer and it works better than any store bought killer, home mix, or exterminator.
pour it into holes until ground doesn’t soak up anymore, then reapply next day, then dig into colony and reapply 3rd day.
sometimes 1st application does it, but 2nd and 3rd day makes it dead certain.
please note that many methods only cause fire ants to move to another area of yard or allow time for new queens to escape, while this method just kills everybody in colony and fast.
i have acre lot in desert area and it works great while neighbors spned lots of money and cant ever win, i spend about $8 per year on bleach and am fire ant free

    Dear friend,
I have only one suggestion: I had ant problems in another area where I lived, and I read somewhere that if I would take a shovel from one pile of fire ants to another hill of fire ants, they would fight each other. It seemed to do the trick.
I am not sure what my source was for knowing this, and it might not work, but it is worth a try.

The first person is right. I have done that many times. Get a big shovel full of ant pile and throw it on another one. Because you will have two queens in one colony and they will kill each other.

    gasoline poor down their hole.
